PDF To Markdown provides both browser-based Regular Mode and server-side Advanced OCR for converting PDFs into Markdown. This policy explains what data we process, how we handle your files, and what we do not collect.
Regular Mode processes PDFs entirely in your browser:
Advanced OCR uploads your PDF to our servers for recognition:
Batch Regular Mode processes files locally in your browser, same as single-file Regular Mode. Batch Advanced OCR uploads files for server-side recognition, following the same upload, deletion, and retention rules as single-file Advanced OCR.
If you create an account, we process basic account information such as your name and email address for sign-in, account management, and credit tracking. We may also process subscription and payment records if you purchase credits or plans.
We may collect limited technical and usage information such as browser type, page visits, and error states to improve the service. We do not intentionally collect PDF file names, PDF contents, Markdown output, or document-identifying information through analytics.
Cookies are used for authentication, language preferences, and basic site functionality.
The following third-party services may process limited data necessary to operate the website:
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. Regular Mode's browser-side processing avoids transmitting document content. For Advanced OCR, files are transferred over encrypted connections and deleted promptly. No online service can guarantee absolute security — avoid processing files you are not authorized to handle.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
